Welcome to The Department of General Education

Department of General Education, Southern University Bangladesh is an Interdisciplinary Program that deals to a number of General Courses from various faculties offered by other Program Offering Entities (POEs). The courses offered by the Department are a subset of University Requirements for all Undergraduate and Graduate Students enrolled to any particular program. In a view to achieving the goal of the University ‘Committed to Academic Excellence’, the Department endeavors to design her Curriculum in light of the PLOs of mother Department with continuing and blended learning methods so that, it can help the students in generalization of knowledge fostering towards the SDG Goal-4; Quality Education. The Department works on building a strong foundation for a newly admitted pupil focusing on a broad learning area of History and Heritage, Basic Language, Basic and Social Science, Bangladesh and Global Studies and so on. General Education aims to encourage the students developing themselves to a fullest possible extent so that, they can coup to the trends of changing society and contribute to the community in best level.
